Ambassador Cuts Ribbon on New Library Resources: CAARI Opens Anatolian Archaeology Collection
The Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) is a non-profit research center, registered in Cyprus in 1980, to promote and assist the humanistic study of Cyprus. In a ceremony on January 26, CAARI opened a new section of its library—one dedicated to the study of all periods of Anatolian archaeology. [more]
Cyprus Tuned In To Bluegrass Ensemble Cyprus Tuned In To Bluegrass Ensemble
The Student Loan bluegrass ensemble toured Cyprus as part of the Rhythm Road program. Bluegrass music is a form of American roots music, and is a sub-genre of country music. Traditional bluegrass is typically based around acoustic stringed instruments, such as mandolin, acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, and upright bass, with or without vocals. [more]

Dr. Cheri Florance, an award-winning autism brain engineering researcher and mother of a child initially diagnosed as autistic who has subsequently achieved spectacular educational success, visited Cyprus in November at the request of the Ministry of Education to share insights gained from her research. Regional Education Advising Councelor meets with Cypriot Fulbright Alumni
An intimate group of alumni from the Cyprus Fulbright Commission’s scholarship program met with Amy McGoldrick, the Regional Educational Advising Counselor (REAC) for Southeast Europe and Central Asia, for dinner and a discussion on January 13, 2009. During the dinner, alumni shared their experiences, discussed educational trends in Cyprus and helped to brainstorm ideas about how alumni can assist in increasing student mobility for higher education in the United States.
