On July 2, 2008 at the J.W. Fulbright Center in the UN-patrolled buffer zone, the U.S. Embassy’s Bicommunal Support Program (BSP) sponsored a seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for Chief Executive Officers from both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities. The seminar focused on CSR practices in general and on the Embassy’s eight-week training program in particular, which is being carried by Global Education Services and its partner, Seattle University Albers School of Business and Economics. The training is for 25 Greek and Turkish Cypriot members of the business community and features one month of classes in Cyprus as well as a two-week internship program in Seattle, Washington, and a week in Washington, D.C. visiting relevant government offices and NGOs.
