Audiences of all ages and backgrounds learned about the limitless possibilities of the internet and “Entrepeneurship as a Way of Life” from Benedict Casnocha, a Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur, author, blogger and student who started his own web-based business, Comcate, Inc., at the age of 14. An accomplished business professional now 21-years old, Mr. Casnocha is the author of the bestseller “My Start-Up Life: What a (Very) Young CEO Learned on His Journey Through Silicon Valley.” BusinessWeek recently described him as “one of America’s top young entrepreneurs.”

During his visit to Cyprus, Ben spoke to young business leaders at the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry about “Entrepeneurship as a Way of Life,” highlighting how the skills one needs to develop and run a successful business can also be applied to everyday life by businesspersons and non-businessperons alike. He also met with the Young Businesspersons Association, Young Rotarians Group, and Junior Chamber International in the Turkish-Cypriot community. Finally, Ben spoke at a high-profile Information Technology conference in Kyrenia about how to create an environment that fosters the development of internet-based businesses, including the need to have laws that safeguard intellectual property and prevent counterfeiting and piracy.

In addition to his meetings with young business and IT community leaders, Ben took the time to share his inspirational story and life lessons with hundreds of young students at Near East College, Turk Maarif College, Levent College and Eastern Mediterranean College. After his presentations, some eager students even shared their own ideas for start-up businesses with Ben, who now has several new Facebook friends from Cyprus.
