California State University Professor Shares Special Education and Autism Expertise with Local Teachers

Expert educator Dr. Dwight P. Sweeney shared his expertise in special education and autism with hundreds of teachers across Cyprus during a training program organized by the U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture. Dr. Sweeney is a Professor of Educational Psychology and Counseling, and the coordinator of the Educational Counseling and School Psychology Programs at California State University-San Bernardino. He is an expert in the identification and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral disorders.

 

From October 5-9, 2009, Dr. Sweeney spoke to hundreds of teachers and school coordinators in Nicosia, Larnaca, Paphos and Limassol about “The Right and Positive Approach of Special Education Children Through Continuous Scientific Education and Training.” This program helped the U.S. and Cyprus realize their shared goal of providing special-needs children throughout the world with the highest quality of education based on the latest methodologies in educational science.

 

Dr. Sweeney  is an expert in the identification and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional or behavioral disorders.
