U.S. EMBASSY CATEGORICALLY DENIES TURKISH PRESS ALLEGATIONS

The U.S. Embassy categorically denies allegations carried in the Turkish press that the U.S. intends to recognize the "TRNC." We remain firmly committed to the reunification of Cyprus through a negotiated agreement supported by majorities on both sides. This has been our position for more than thirty years. We encourage our friends in the media to check with us before printing articles on U.S. policy.
