Step 2
Schedule an appointment
All nonimmigrant visa applicants must apply in person and appear before a consular officer. Visa interviews are contacted during morning hours. An appointment made on-line is required for the interview. U.S. laws also require that visa applicants who are 14 through 79 years of age be fingerprinted.
A separate appointment is required for each applicant, including those who are under 14 and over 79 years of age. If you are the parent of a child applying for a visa, please schedule an appointment in the child’s name. A parent or guardian who is not applying for a visa for himself or herself does not need an appointment to accompany the child, but will need to show evidence of relationship.
The Embassy opens nonimmigrant visa interview appointments approximately 8 to 9 weeks prior to the beginning of each calendar month.
All applicants must have a valid passport number to schedule an appointment. The name and passport number on your appointment confirmation MUST MATCH the name and passport number that you bring on the day of your interview. If you change your passport between the time you schedule the appointment and the day of your interview, you must show your old passport. Report any changes to consularnicosia@state.gov.
Appointments without a valid passport number or a passport number that does not match the number of the passport presented on the day of the interview are NOT valid and will not be honored at the gate.
For crew visa group appointments please send a request to consularnicosia@state.gov.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS FROM IRAN:
The Embassy does not have a Farsi speaking translator. Therefore, interviews must be conducted only in English, Turkish or Greek.
