USAID Supports Cyprus Red Cross Relief Efforts

  • The United States again expresses its condolences to the victims of the July 11th naval base explosion, and to their family members. 
  • Ambassador Urbancic, during his farewell call on President Christofias, expressed his condolences, and the United States' willingness to help during this difficult period. 
  • In response to a direct request from the Cypriot Red Cross for assistance, the United States Government has provided a grant through the United States Agency for International Development to the Cyprus Red Cross to support its relief efforts.
  • The US Embassy is currently working with the government of Cyprus to explore ways of providing assistance in the medium-term, based on Republic of Cyprus' needs and requests.
